How to sync media via Insta360+
Syncing media via Insta360+ Cloud Service is available in two modes: "manual sync" and "automatic sync". After successful upload, you can free up device storage as needed. Detailed steps are as follows:
Upload requirements
To avoid upload failure or interruption, ensure your camera meets all the following requirements before uploading files:
- The camera is successfully bound to your Insta360 account and connected to Wi-Fi.
- The connected Wi-Fi network has a stable signal and enables normal Internet access.
- The camera is within the coverage of the configured Wi-Fi signal.
- Ensure your camera is connected to a power source.

Uploading media
Method 1: Manual sync
- Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Control Center".
- Tap "Sync files to cloud" (For X2 models, directly tap the "Cloud Service" icon).
- Tap "Sync now". Once the upload requirements are met, uploading of media in the camera will be initiated.
Method 2: Automatic sync
- Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Control Center".
- Tap "Sync files to cloud" (For X2 models, directly tap the "Cloud Service" icon).
- Tap "Sync settings" > enable "Automatic sync". When the upload requirements are satisfied, the camera will automatically upload new media in the background.
Please note:
- X2 and X3 can upload only while in standby; X4, X5 and Ace Pro 2 can also upload when powered off (the camera will automatically power on and upload when connected to a power source with enough battery).
- After enabling automatic upload on X4, the camera will start auto-upload when the battery level is not less than 20% and it is connected to a power source. You can also adjust the battery level threshold for upload as needed.
- When automatic upload is enabled on X4 Air and X5, two options are available: "Charging priority" and "Sync priority" ("Sync priority" is set by default):
- When "Charging priority" is selected: The camera prioritizes charging and starts uploading when the battery level reaches 80%.
- When "Sync priority" is selected: The camera prioritizes syncing and starts uploading when the battery level reaches 20%.

- For Ace Pro 2, if manual sync is selected, the camera will start syncing immediately. If automatic sync is enabled, the camera will start auto-syncing when the battery level is not less than 80%.
- Ace Pro 2 does not currently support turning automatic sync on or off directly on the camera.
- Both manual sync and automatic sync can only be initiated from the camera, not from the Insta360 app.
- The camera's indicator light flashes green during media uploads.
When sync is completed
- A clear "Sync completed" prompt will appear on the camera screen once the upload is finished.
- If no further operations are performed, the camera will automatically shut down after 10 seconds.
- To free up camera storage space, manually check "Delete local files that have been synced". After deletion, the files will only be retained in the cloud.

Please note: Ace Pro 2 does not support checking the option "Delete local files that have been synced".
FAQ
1. Can I upload media to the cloud album via the Insta360 app / Insta360 Studio?
Currently, uploads can only be initiated from the camera. Uploading via the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio is not supported.
2. Which camera models support the cloud service?
Currently supported models: X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, and Ace Pro 2.
For Ace Series or GO Series, please refer to the following steps:
Ace, Ace Pro, and GO Ultra: Copy media to an SD card, then insert the SD card into X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, or Ace Pro 2 for upload.
GO 3 and GO 3S: Use a computer or Quick Reader to copy media to the SD card of X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, or Ace Pro 2, then upload.
3. Why does "abnormal footage" appear after uploading files to Insta360+ Cloud Service?
This is usually caused by abnormalities in the media files during shooting or storage. We recommend re-shooting a media and trying again. If the issue persists, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
4. Does the cloud service support uploading specific media?
No, it does not.
5. Why aren't all files in the camera uploaded, and some remain pending sync?
This may be due to unstable network or power disconnection causing upload interruption. Try connecting the camera to power and re-uploading when the network condition is good.
6. After binding multiple cameras, can I upload media from all cameras together?
Uploads are triggered from the camera. For multiple cameras bound to the same account, you need to set "Sync now" or "Automatic sync" separately on each bound camera.
7. Why is the upload speed to Insta360+ Cloud Service so slow?
Upload speed depends on the Wi-Fi network and file size, as Insta360+ Cloud Service relies on Wi-Fi for data transmission. We recommend using a Wi-Fi network with stronger signal and faster transmission speed.
8. After the photos and videos are edited and saved to the SD card, can they be uploaded via the cloud service?
No.
9. I can't upload files to the cloud after renaming them. How to rename them for automatic upload?
- Example of standard camera file name: VID_20250219_151733_00_255.insv
- Only the numbers after the second underscore can be modified, and the length of the numbers must remain the same as the original format. Other parts cannot be changed. Example: VID_20250219_151733_00_255.insv can be renamed VID_20250219_111111_00_255.insv
- If you have already modified the original file name, rename it according to the above format and the actual shooting date of the file. However, successful upload after modification cannot be fully guaranteed.
10. Can the upload order of files be changed?
Currently, the cloud service does not support customizing the upload order. All files will be uploaded in the default order.
11. Will the original files on the camera be deleted after uploading media via the cloud service?
When uploading media from the camera, if you have checked "Delete local files after syncing" on the "Sync settings" page, the original files on the camera will be deleted. If not checked, the original files will remain on the camera's SD card.
Please note:
- Currently, this feature is supported on X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, and X5.
- Ace Pro 2 does not yet support turning on the option "Delete local files after syncing". Although this option appears in the Insta360 app, it is not yet available. We will continue to optimize our products to provide you with a better experience. Thank you for your understanding and support!

12. Can files already downloaded to Insta360 app / phone album / Insta360 Studio / computer local storage still be uploaded to the cloud via the cloud service? / How to upload (export) files from the Insta360 app / Insta360 Studio to the cloud?
- If the corresponding original file in the camera is not deleted: Initiate the upload directly on the camera.
- If the corresponding original file in the camera is deleted: Save the file to a computer, transfer the file from the computer back to the memory card via a card reader, insert the memory card into the camera, and then upload to the cloud via the camera.
Please note: Edited media will not support re-uploading via cloud service seven if it is saved back to the memory card.
13. If you cancel the upload during the file uploading process, will the already uploaded files also be canceled?
Files that have been uploaded will be stored in Insta360+ Cloud Storage. When the camera connects to Wi-Fi next time and meets the requirements for automatic sync, the upload progress of the files currently being uploaded (including other remaining files) will resume from the point of interruption instead of restarting the entire upload process.
14. Why can't the "Automatic sync" feature be disabled directly on Ace Pro 2? Why is "Automatic sync" enabled on Ace Pro 2 by default when cloud service is used?
Once you bind your Ace Pro 2 to a valid cloud service account, the system will enable "Automatic sync" by default, and this setting cannot be modified directly on the camera for the time being. We will optimize this feature via a future firmware update; please stay tuned for firmware update notifications.
You can currently enable or disable this feature through the Insta360 app: Tap "Me" > "My Cloud and Devices" > select Ace Pro 2 from the list of "Cloud Devices" > "Connect Device". After a successful connection, you can toggle the "Automatic sync" option on or off as needed.

15. Will LRV files take up cloud storage space after being uploaded?
LRV files will not occupy your cloud storage space after being uploaded.
16. After Ace Pro 2 live photos are uploaded to the cloud service, can they be viewed in the Insta360 app? Will they remain as live photos when exported to the system local album?
After Ace Pro 2 live photos are uploaded to the cloud service, they can be viewed in the Insta360 app as live photos. They will also remain as live photos when exported to the system local album.
