How to bind your camera to cloud service and configure Wi-Fi

Starting with v1.83.1 of the Insta360 app, linking your camera to Insta360+ and setting up Wi-Fi is quicker and easier than ever. It's recommended to update the app to the newest version first for a more smooth user experience, then follow the steps below.

  1. Connect your camera to the Insta360 app and log in to your Insta360+ account.
  2. Navigate to the "Me" page in the Insta360 app, then tap "My cloud and devices" > “Select Camera” to bind your camera device.

Please note:

  • You can manually select a configured Wi-Fi network. Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > swipe right to switch to the "Insta360+" Cloud Service page > select "Sync settings" > enter "My Wi-Fi" > tap the name of the desired Wi-Fi network to switch to it.
  • Only the Wi-Fi networks configured via the Insta360 app will be displayed in the "My Wi-Fi" list; those not set up through this app cannot be found in the list.

Camera already bound to cloud service but no Wi-Fi configured

  1. Connect the camera to the Insta360 app and ensure you're logged in to your Insta360+ account.
  2. A pop-up will appear to guide users to add Wi-Fi.

What should I do if the camera is disconnected from the Insta360 app after Wi-Fi configuration

After Wi-Fi configuration, the camera will automatically disconnect from the Insta360 app to prioritize maintaining the Wi-Fi connection (for future cloud uploads). This is normal—you can choose the following operations as needed:

  • Proceed to configure other Wi-Fi networks
  • Initiate cloud uploads on your camera
  • Reconnect to the Insta360 app

FAQ

1. What types of Wi-Fi cannot be connected to when configuring your camera's network?

Wi-Fi compatibility varies by camera model. The following types of Wi-Fi are not supported:

  • X5, X4 Air, X4, X3, and X2: Cannot connect to a Wi-Fi network with a hidden SSID or a two-factor authentication-enabled Wi-Fi network.
  • Ace Pro 2: Cannot connect to a Wi-Fi network with a hidden SSID, a two-factor authentication-enabled Wi-Fi network, or open Wi-Fi networks (e.g., password-free Wi-Fi in airports, hotels, etc., which requires web portals or SMS verification for access).

2. How many Wi-Fi networks can be configured for the cloud service?

The camera can only use one Wi-Fi network at a time (i.e., the one currently used for cloud uploads). However, it can switch between different Wi-Fi networks, and there is no limit on the number of switchable Wi-Fi networks.
