Insta360+: Upload to Cloud is Slow or Laggy

Insta360+: Upload to Cloud is Slow or Laggy

Applicable Models: X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, and Ace Pro 2

Solution

  1. Media upload speed is only affected by the network environment; the cloud service itself does not impose any limits on media upload speed. You can visit speedtest.net, click "GO", check your current network speed, and record the "UPLOAD" speed.

  1. Compare the test result with the camera's theoretical maximum upload speed.

Below are the maximum upload speeds tested in an interference-free environment when the camera is connected to 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi signals:

Frequency

Theoretical Maximum Upload Speed (Shielded Room Environment)

5G

32.475MB/s

2.4G

5.4MB/s

*1MB/s=8Mbps

  1. Please follow the steps below that apply to your situation:

Scenario 1: Upload speed test result differs by up to 15% from the camera's theoretical speed

This indicates your current network upload function is normal. To optimize the experience, try the following:

  • Upload in an open area with a strong Wi-Fi signal and no obstructions.
  • Avoid other devices consuming large network bandwidth (e.g., large-file downloads, high-definition video streaming) during uploads.
  • Prioritize connecting to 5G Wi-Fi if your router supports both 2.4G and 5G—its speed is typically faster with less interference.
  • Restart your camera and router before re-uploading.

Scenario 2: Upload speed test result differs by more than 15% from the camera's theoretical speed

This indicates an abnormal network upload speed. Troubleshoot as follows:

  1. Keep the camera close to the router and reduce interference from other wireless devices nearby.
  2. If your router supports both 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi simultaneously, please prioritize connecting to 5G Wi-Fi, which typically offers faster speeds and less interference.
  3. If you're traveling overseas but selected a China-based data center when purchasing cloud storage service, slower upload speeds due to distance are normal.
  4. Restart your camera and router, then attempt the upload again.
