GO Ultra: Camera Fails to Read Memory Card or Says "No SD Card"

GO Ultra: Camera Fails to Read Memory Card or Says "No SD Card"

Applicable Models: GO Ultra

Solution

Step 1: Check memory card and firmware
  1. Confirm memory card specifications

Ensure you are using a Micro SD/TF card that is UHS-I, V30, or faster speed class, and pre-formatted to exFAT. If the card falls short on speed or format, swap it for a compliant one and retry.

  1. Format memory card (back up data first)

Please refer to: GO Series: Formatting Memory

  1. Update the camera firmware

It is recommended to connect the camera to the Insta360 app, check for update notifications, and follow the instructions to complete the upgrade if an update is available.

Please refer to: GO Series: How to Connect Camera to the Insta360 App and GO Series: How to Check and Update Firmware Version

Step 2: Test with another device

If the problem persists after following the above steps, test the memory card by inserting it into another device (such as a computer or card reader).

  • If the memory card is also unrecognizable on other devices, it may be faulty. It is recommended to replace it with another compliant memory card and try again.
  • If the memory card is read normally on other devices, it is recommended that you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.
