GO Series: Formatting Memory

Applicable Models: GO 3, GO 3S, and GO Ultra

You can format the device in three ways: via the Action Pod, the Insta360 app, or a PC. Please choose the method that matches your device model. Formatting erases all data from the memory, so it is recommended to back up any important files first.

How to format memory

Method 1: Via Action Pod

1. Place the camera into the Action Pod and press the power button to turn it on.
2. Swipe down from the top of the Action Pod's screen to access the "Shortcut" menu, then tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙).
3. Select "SD Card" (for GO Ultra) or "Camera Storage" (for GO 3 / GO 3S).
4. Tap "Format" and confirm.

Method 2: Via the Insta360 app

1. Connect the camera to the Insta360 app.
2. In the Insta360 app, go to Settings, tap "Me" > find "Device Settings" > "Other Settings".
3. Select "Camera Storage".
4. Tap "Format" and confirm.

Method 3: Via PC

• Windows OS:
  1. Connect the camera to the PC using a data cable and select "U-Disk Mode" on the camera.

Please note: Please do not check the "Quick Format" option.

• Mac OS:
  1. Connect the camera to the PC using a data cable and select "U-Disk Mode" on the camera.

Please note: Formatting will erase all data on the card, so it is recommended to back up important files before proceeding.
