Solution

I. Confirm memory card specifications

To ensure optimal shooting performance, please use a Micro SD / TF card that meets the UHS-I, V30 or higher speed class specification and is formatted as exFAT.

Please note:

  • It is recommended to use memory cards tested or sold by Insta360.
  • We recommend using memory cards with 128GB or more storage. 32GB / 64GB memory cards have insufficient storage and are more likely to trigger insufficient speed warnings.

II. Check the firmware version

Please ensure the camera firmware is updated to the latest version.

III. Format the memory card

After backing up important data, format the memory card on the camera or via the Insta360 app.

If the issue persists, proceed with the following advanced formatting methods:

Use "Low-Level Format" on the camera (Applicable to X4 and X5)

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙) > "SD Card" > "Format" > "Low-Level Format".

Format via computer (Applicable to ONE X, X2, and X3)

  1. Insert the memory card into a computer or connect it to a computer using a card reader.
  2. Once the computer recognizes the memory card, click "My Computer" or "This PC" > right-click the drive icon of the card > click "Format".
  3. Set the File System to "exFAT" and the Allocation Unit Size to "128KB", then click "Start". Ensure the "Quick Format" option is NOT checked.

IV. Replace the memory card

If the issue still exists after formatting, try replacing the memory card with a new one to check if it functions normally.
