  1. Shoot in an open environment

  1. Try shooting with a mobile phone

If an open environment is not available, try shooting with a mobile phone instead. We will continuously optimize our products to provide you with a better user experience. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Scenario 4: Abnormal compass data (applicable to GPS Preview Remote (with Built-in Mic) and GPS Preview Remote)

Description
  • Deviation in the compass pointing direction
  • No changes in compass data
Solution
  1. Update the firmware version

Please ensure the firmware of your camera and remote is both updated to the latest version.

Please refer to: Remote: How to Update Firmware

  1. Stay away from magnetic interference

\Abnormal compass data is usually related to the magnetic environment. When using the remote, keep it away from other electronic devices, metal objects or strong magnetic sources to prevent interference.

  1. Calibrate the compass data

Please follow the prompts on the remote to perform the figure-eight maneuver, calibrating the compass data to restore normal compass direction. During operation, please keep your hands steady and avoid vigorous shaking.

  1. Verify the calibration results

After completing the calibration process, please check whether the data has returned to normal. If the compass pointing direction still shows deviation, compare it with your phone's compass. Due to slight variations between devices, minor deviations are considered normal and you can use the device with confidence.

If none of the above solutions resolves your issue, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
