  1. Check memory card specifications

Ensure you are using a Micro SD/TF card that is UHS-I, V30 or faster, and pre-formatted to exFAT (64GB or larger is recommended). If the card falls short on speed or format, swap it for a compliant one.

  1. Update camera firmware

Connect to the Insta360 app, check for updates, and upgrade to the latest firmware version.

  1. Format memory card

If there are no problems with the memory card and firmware, you can format the memory card. Be sure to back up important data before formatting:

  • Format via Action Pod:
    • Place the camera into the Action Pod and press the power button to turn it on.
    • Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the drop-down menu, tap "Settings" > "SD Card" > "Format".
  • Format via PC:
    • Windows: Insert the memory card into a computer or a card reader. Open "This PC" > right-click the memory card drive > select "Format" > choose "exFAT" as the file system, set the allocation unit size to 128KB, and uncheck "Quick Format".
    • Mac: Open "Disk Utility" > select the memory card > click "Erase" > choose "exFAT" as the format and "Master Boot Record (MBR)" as the scheme, then complete the formatting.
