Insta360 App: Crashing

Insta360 App: Crashing

Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, Ace, Ace Pro, Ace Pro 2, GO 3, GO 3S, GO Ultra, ONE R, and ONE RS

Scenario 1: The Insta360 app crashes on Honor phones (e.g., Magic 7 / Magic 7 Pro / Magic 90)

It is recommended to update the Insta360 app to v2.0.3 or later and try again.

Scenario 2: The Insta360 app crashes during startup on Huawei phones

This issue might be caused by incompatibility between the Huawei system and Google apps (or Google Mobile Services - GMS). Please check if your phone has Google apps or GMS installed. Uninstall them and then retry to check if the Insta360 app can start normally.

How to check if your phone has Google Mobile Services (GMS) installed:
  1. Open your phone's app list and check for core Google apps like Google Play Store, Gmail, or Google Maps. Their presence usually indicates pre-installed GMS.
  2. Navigate to your phone's "Settings" > "Accounts" to see if there is an option to add a "Google Account". If this option is missing, GMS might not be integrated.

Scenario 3: The Insta360 app crashes on other devices or in other situations

1. Check the device compatibility

Please refer to: Insta360 App: Device Compatibility

2. Proceed based on the compatibility check result
  • If the device is not compatible

It is recommended to use a different compatible device or perform operations using Insta360 Studio on a computer.

  • If the device is compatible

Please follow the steps below. After each step, restart the Insta360 app to see if the crashing issue is resolved:

  1. Update the Insta360 app to the latest version.

  1. Check your phone's RAM: If the RAM is 6GB or less, the Insta360 app is more likely to be closed by the system due to insufficient memory during editing or exporting.
  2. Close other background applications and clear system memory before editing or exporting media. If you are using an Android phone, you can enable the "Virtual RAM" (or similar) feature in your phone settings to improve performance.

If none of the above solutions resolves your issue, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
