Insta360+: X5 Cannot Sync Media to Cloud or Perform Auto-Sync When Powered Off

Applicable Models: X5

Description

After upgrading to v1.0.10, X5 fails to upload media to the cloud via the cloud service's auto-upload feature when powered off.

Solution

To ensure secure backup of your important media and optimize the camera's battery life, the cloud service's upload feature for X5 cameras with firmware v1.0.10 and later has been optimized and adjusted. Please first confirm that uploading media to the cloud meets the following conditions, then select the corresponding upload method as needed.

1. Confirm the conditions for syncing to cloud are met

To avoid upload failure or interruption, ensure your camera meets all the following conditions before uploading files:

  • The camera is successfully bound to your Insta360 account and connected to Wi-Fi.
  • The connected Wi-Fi network has a stable signal and enables normal Internet access.
  • The camera is within the coverage of the configured Wi-Fi signal.
  • The camera is connected to a power source.

2. Select a sync method
  • Manual Sync: After ensuring the device meets the above prerequisites, select "Sync now" on the camera to start the sync process.
  • Automatic Sync: When enabling auto sync, two options are available: "Charging priority" and "Sync priority" ("Sync priority" is the default setting). After meeting the prerequisites and selecting the corresponding option, auto-sync will proceed according to the following rules:
    • Charging priority: The camera prioritizes charging and starts syncing when the battery reaches 80%.
    • Sync priority: The camera prioritizes syncing and starts syncing when the battery reaches 20%.
