The Free Framing Selfie Stick enables wireless control of your camera, turning your 360 camera into a trendy vlogging tool. It supports customizable assembly modes, screen rotation adaptation, and other practical features. After the first pairing, there is no need to reconnect it for subsequent use, providing a more convenient and flexible shooting experience.
How to connect the Free Framing Selfie Stick to a camera
- Before connecting, update the firmware of camera and Free Framing Selfie Stick to their latest versions.
- X5 camera firmware needs to be updated to v1.7.43 or later.
- Free Framing Selfie Stick firmware needs to be updated to v1.0.0.2 or later. Open the Insta360 app, tap "Me" > "Accessory Settings", then search for and connect to the selfie stick. If a new firmware version is detected, the Insta360 app will automatically prompt you to update; please follow the instructions to complete the update. Do not connect to the camera during the update to avoid update failure.

- Press and hold the power button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the Free Framing Selfie Stick.

- Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > tap "Bluetooth" > "Bluetooth Remote" > "Free Framing Selfie Stick". After successful connection, a prompt will appear at the top of the camera screen.
- After the first successful pairing, there is no need to repeat the steps above for subsequent use. Press and hold the power button on the selfie stick for more than 2 seconds to wake up the camera and initiate automatic connection.
How to set up functions after connecting the Free Framing Selfie Stick
Assembly method selection
Tap the selfie stick icon in the top left corner of the camera screen to enter the selfie stick settings page, where you can customize the assembly mode between the camera and the selfie stick.
Please note: The assembly mode affects the pitch lock direction. For 360 shooting, vertical assembly is recommended for better stitching results.

Screen rotation adaptation
Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to enter the "Shortcut" menu and tap "Rotation Lock". After enabling, if the camera mounting orientation does not match the screen display orientation (landscape/portrait), a prompt will automatically appear, allowing you to choose between landscape or portrait orientation based on your shooting needs.
Bluetooth device compatibility
The camera can simultaneously connect to Bluetooth audio devices such as Mic Air, but it cannot connect to other remotes like Mini Remote at the same time.
