Scenario 2: Abnormal flashing of indicator lights / No indicator light turning on when powering on
Symptom 1
When the camera is powered on, the indicator light glows yellow. This may be caused by low battery level of the camera.
Solution
- Connect the camera to a power supply and charge it for 5-10 minutes, then briefly press the power button to try turning it on.
- If you have spare batteries, try replacing the battery and turning on the camera.
If it still won't turn on, we recommend you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.
Symptom 2
When the camera is powered on, the indicator light glows blue or magenta, or it does not light up at all. This may occur due to an unexpected power interruption during the camera's firmware update process.
Solution
- Charge the camera with the original USB cable for 20 minutes, then briefly press the power button to try turning it on.
- Try removing and reinserting the battery, then turn on the camera. If you have spare batteries, try replacing the battery and turning on the camera.
- If you have a card reader, you can also try updating the camera firmware to the latest version via the memory card.
- If the camera can be turned on after firmware update: For future updates, please keep the camera connected to a power supply and ensure a memory card is inserted during the process.
- If it still cannot be turned on after firmware update, we recommend you apply for Insta360 Repair Service for professional diagnostics.

Scenario 3: Failure to power on in other situations
- Charge the camera with the original USB cable for 20 minutes, check if the indicator light turns on and attempt to power it on. If it powers on after charging, the issue is caused by a depleted battery.
- If it cannot be turned on, remove the battery, insert only the memory card and connect the camera to a power supply, then attempt to turn on the camera. If it can be turned on, the battery is abnormal. Please replace the battery before using the camera.
- If it still cannot be turned on, remove the memory card, insert only the battery (without connecting the camera to a power supply), and attempt to turn on the camera. If it can be turned on, the memory card is abnormal. Please replace the memory card before using the camera.
- If the issue persists after trying the above steps, remove both the battery and the memory card, connect only the charging cable, and attempt to turn on the camera. If it can be turned on, both the memory card and the battery are abnormal. Please replace the memory card and the battery before using the camera.
Scenario 4: X4 Air and X5 are unable to power on or freeze during startup in low-temperature environments
If the camera fails to power on or crashes when used in outdoor environments below 32℉ (0°C) (e.g., in winter), please update the camera firmware to the latest version (for X5 cameras, please update the firmware via the memory card) and check if the issue is resolved.
