X Series: How to Format a Memory Card

Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, and X5

If your camera cannot recognize the memory card or you need to format it, you can do so via the Insta360 app or directly on the camera. Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all photos and videos on the card. Please back up your valuable media files beforehand.

Method 1: Format via the Insta360 app

1. Insert the memory card into the camera and connect the camera to your phone.
2. Open the Insta360 app, tap "Me" > find "Device Settings" > "Camera Storage" > tap "Format".

Method 2: Format via the camera

X2, X3, X4, and X5

1.  Insert the memory card into the camera and power it on.
2. Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu, then tap "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙).
3. Select "SD Card", then tap "Format" to complete the formatting.

ONE X

1. Long press the Power button to turn on the camera and switch to the "Setting" mode. Press the Shutter button to enter this mode.
2. Press the Shutter button to switch to the "information" menu.
3. Press the Power button to scroll down and select "Format", then press the Shutter button.
4. Press the Power button to select "✓" to complete the formatting.
