FAQ
1. Why does the camera record my phone's location?
Because the camera itself does not have a built-in GPS module. When you control shooting via the Insta360 app, the camera automatically records the real-time location information from your phone or other connected devices.
2. Can I export a GPX file when using the camera with an Insta360 GPS remote control?
The result depends on the export method for videos shot with an Insta360 GPS remote control:
- Source files / saving after shooting / exporting original files via software: The file format is INSP/INSV and contains GPS data.
- Exporting via software: The file format is JPG/MP4 and does not contain GPS data.
- Exporting via Insta360 Studio with the "Export GPX File" option checked: The exported video itself contains no GPS data, but a separate GPX file containing all the GPS data is generated.
