X Series: Camera Activation

Activating your camera makes sure your warranty and other benefits are correctly registered, so you can get complete after-sales service and exclusive benefits. Below is an introduction to the basic activation steps for your camera and FAQ to help you activate and use it smoothly.

How to activate the camera for the first time?

  1. First, download the Insta360 app using any of the following methods:
    • Method 1: After turning on the camera for the first time, scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
    • Method 2: Scan the QR code on the product packaging box.
    • Method 3: Visit Insta360 Downloads > download Insta360 app.
  2. Turn on the camera, and enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
  3. Open the Insta360 app, tap the "Camera" icon at the bottom, find the option matching the last 6 digits of your camera's serial number on the pop-up page, and tap to connect. For the first connection, you need to tap to confirm the connection on the camera screen.

  1. After a successful connection, if a new firmware version is available, Insta360 app will pop up a notification. Follow the prompts in the app to complete the camera firmware update. Once the update is finished, follow the on-screen instructions to activate the camera.

Please note: If the activation fails, please first ensure that your mobile network is functioning properly and update the Insta360 app to the latest version before attempting activation again. If you are still unable to activate after several attempts, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
