1.1.3 Connecting to a Phone


Method 1:WiFi Connection

  1. Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth on your phone.

  2. Press the power button to turn on your ONE R.

  3. Open the ONE R App, tap the camera icon at the bottom of the app homepage and select "Connect now" in the WiFi panel. Then, choose your ONE R and follow the onscreen instructions to connect your device.
    Note: For Android device, after choosing your ONE R in the WiFi panel, App will pop up ONE R's WiFi and passpord. Please copy the password and go to phone's WiFi page, then choose ONE R WiFi to connect. The phone will prompt no network during the connection, which is normal.

  4. After successfully connecting the camera, you can take photos or shoot videos via the app.

Note:

1) The WiFi connection range is 10 meters (33 ft) in optimal conditions with no interference.
2) Cable connection is also supported. Official compatible cables are sold separately.

Method 2:Cable Connection
The official cable for wired connection is available separately at the Insta360 store.

  1. Press the power button to turn on your ONE R.

  2. Swipe down to enter Shortcuts, swipe left to the second page, choose Settings - >General -> USB mode.

  3. Select iOS/ Android mode according to your phone system.

  4. Then connect ONE R to your phone with the dedicated cable. After successfully connecting the camera, you can take photos or shoot videos via the app.

Q1. What is the maximum range of ONE R’s WiFi signal?
In an environment with no interference, the maximum range is 10 meters (33ft).

Q2. How can I wirelessly connect ONE R to my phone?
After ONE R is powered on, please open the ONE R app on your phone and connect to WiFi according to the prompts. For detailed operation steps, see the tutorial.

Q3. What should I do if my mobile phone cannot connect to ONE R’s WiFi?
If your mobile phone cannot connect to ONE R’s WiFi after entering ONE R’s default WiFi password, try the following steps:

  1. Please restart the camera and phone first;
  2. If it still cannot connect, please turn on your phone’s airplane mode and try again;
  3. If it still cannot connect, please turn on GPS positioning for the ONE R app on the phone's settings page (for Android phones only) and try again.
