Please note: The E-ink display features very low power consumption, no glare, and clear display quality. However, due to the characteristics of the screen, some colors may appear less saturated, and the original image effect may not be fully reproduced. We recommend selecting an image based on the actual display effect.

How to share a wallpaper

On the "Custom Wallpaper" page, after selecting a wallpaper, tap the "Share" button at the bottom left to generate a QR code or a share code. Your friends can scan the QR code or enter the share code to directly use the same wallpaper.

How to clear screen ghosting

  • The Clear Ghosting feature is enabled by default. When the device is unused or charging, and the screen has not been refreshed for a long time, the system will automatically refresh the screen to clear any ghosting that may arise from displaying static content for extended periods.
  • You can also select "Deep Clear Ghosting" in the Insta360 app to perform a high-intensity refresh to clear ghosting and restore optimal display quality.

FAQ

1. Why does it take a relatively long time to refresh the E-ink display wallpaper?

The screen refresh time is about 25 seconds, which is determined by the characteristics of the color E-ink display. The refresh process consists of three stages: voltage balancing, dithering to clear ghosting, and imaging, all to ensure the best optical rendering. Please be patient while the wallpaper refreshes.

2. Why does the E-ink display show ghosting?

E-ink displays render images through a specific algorithm. The E-ink display consists of many micro-cups, each containing ink particles of four colors (white, yellow, red, and blue). These particles are driven by voltage, and different voltages can drive particles of different colors to designated positions to produce various colors. Interactions and adhesion between particles may prevent some particles from reaching their intended positions during a refresh, potentially resulting in ghosting that is noticeable to the eye.

3. Why does an image shown on the E-ink display suddenly refresh automatically?

To maintain display quality, the E-ink display has "Auto Clear Ghosting" enabled by default. If your transmitter has not refreshed its screen for 15 consecutive days, the next time it is charged for 10 minutes while not connected to any device for operation, the E-ink display will automatically refresh once. If you do not want to enable the "Auto Clear Ghosting" feature, you can disable it by connecting the transmitter to the Insta360 app.

How to disable: Connect the transmitter to the Insta360 app, tap "Screen Display" > "Clearing Screen Ghosting" > disable "Auto Clear Ghosting".
