The zoom feature helps you flexibly change the framing range without changing your shooting position, adapting to various scenes at different distances. The following instructions detail how to use the zoom function and some FAQ answers.

How to enable the zoom feature

You can enable the zoom feature in the following ways:

• Push the zoom slider briefly: The camera automatically switches to the next fixed focal length.
• Push and hold the zoom slider: You can keep pushing the slider to zoom the image continuously.

• Tap the Focal Lengths icon at the right side of the camera screen: Switches to the next focal length with a single tap.

• Tap and hold the Focal Lengths icon on the right side of the camera screen or push and hold the zoom slider: Brings up the on-screen virtual zoom slider (not supported for the PureVideo Mode).

Please note: The smallest zoom factor supported by the camera is 0.025x.

3. Can the camera be customized so that a brief push of the zoom slider switches the camera to a specific focal length?

No. Currently, a brief push of the zoom slider only cycles through the common focal lengths in order; it does not support jumping directly to a specific focal length.

If you need to switch to a specific focal length, you can tap and hold the Focal Lengths icon on the right side of the screen or push and hold the zoom slider to bring up the on-screen virtual zoom slider, then tap the screen to jump to your desired focal length. 4. [For Luna Ultra only] Does Luna Ultra support zoom on both the main lens and the telephoto lens? If so, what is the logic behind this?

Both lenses support zooming, with the following logic:

• Focal lengths below 3×: The zooming is handled by the main lens.
• 3× and above: The zooming is handled by the telephoto lens.

5. Which video modes and shooting specifications support continuous zoom?

You can use continuous zoom in the following video modes and shooting specifications: the Video Mode at 60fps and below, and the PureVideo Mode at 60fps and below.

6. [For Luna Ultra only] What is the pixel count of Luna Ultra's telephoto lens?

The telephoto lens resolution on the Luna Ultra depends on the photo mode and resolution, as follows:

7. [For Luna Ultra only] When using Luna Ultra's telephoto lens for macro shooting, what is the approximate reproduction ratio?

When the subject is approximately 5.91in (15cm) from the lens, the maximum reproduction ratio in the telephoto macro mode is about 0.1x (this value represents the ratio of image size to the actual size of the subject).

8. [For Luna Ultra only] What are the causes and solutions for a half-second lag when switching between certain focal lengths (e.g., switching from 2.9x to 3x) during preview in the 8K mode or the 4K portrait mode on Luna Ultra / failure to switch between 2.9x and 3x focal lengths while recording in the 8K mode or the 4K portrait mode?

Subject to hardware performance limitations, Luna Ultra may experience a half-second lag when switching between certain focal lengths (e.g., switching from 2.9x to 3x) during preview in the 8K mode or the 4K portrait mode or fail to switch between 2.9x and 3x focal lengths while recording in the 8K mode. These are normal phenomena and do not indicate a device malfunction. You may refer to the following workarounds:

• If you require seamless, uninterrupted focal length switching during preview or recording, it is recommended to select a shooting mode with a resolution of 4K or lower and a frame rate of 60fps or lower. For recording in the portrait mode, please use the shooting specifications of 3K or lower.
• If you prefer to continue shooting in the 8K mode or the 4K portrait mode, you can stop the current recording, switch the focal length, and then start a new recording.

9. Does the camera support zooming in the I-Log Mode?

Yes. The Zoom feature works regardless of whether the I-Log Mode is enabled; the supported focal lengths when the I-Log Mode is enabled are the same as in the standard color mode.

10. Why does the 15x zoom level seem to produce less clear images than the 12x zoom level?

The 12x and 15x zoom levels are specifically optimized for two different shooting scenarios and serve distinct purposes.

• 12x (prioritizing image quality and detail)

With moderate zooming based on 6x Clarity Zoom, this setting balances sharpness in both the subject and the edges of the frame, resulting in rich tonal range and delicate texture. It is ideal for close-up and medium-range shots that demand high-fidelity detail, such as fine textures and the texture of individual strands of hair.

• 15x (ultra-long-range shooting)

It is primarily used to address the issue of shooting from too far away, further expanding the field of view so that distant subjects appear more filling in the frame; when used with a 1.5x Ultra Telephoto Lens, it can achieve an equivalent focal length of up to 17.7in (450mm) and a 22.5x zoom level. This setting prioritizes ensuring that “the subject is captured and the composition is filling”, resulting in a relatively soft image appearance at high zoom levels.

You can choose according to your needs:

• If you place a high value on detailed rendering of skin, hair, and other fine details, it is recommended to use the 3x, 6x, or 9x.
• When the camera is positioned far from the subject and you need to zoom in to fill the frame with the distant subject, you can use 15x.
