Luna Ultra: Charging and Battery Life

Luna Ultra: Charging and Battery Life

Applicable Models: Luna Ultra

Insta360 Luna Ultra supports flexible charging methods. The following provides specific operating procedures and answers to common questions about charging, making charging more convenient and reassuring for you.

How to charge the camera

1. Connecting the camera to a power adapter using a USB cable

It is recommended to use the official USB-C cable that comes with the camera. The camera supports fast charging. You can use a fast charger that supports PD, QC, or DCP protocols, with a maximum charging specification of 15V/3A.

2. Connection for charging

Connect one end of the USB-C cable to the camera and the other end to a power adapter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet to start charging.

3. Charging time
  • Charging to 80%: About 23 minutes
  • Charging to 100%: About 38 minutes

Please note: The above data was measured at room temperature using a 15V/3A power adapter. Actual charging times may vary under different conditions.

4. Checking the charging status

Depending on the camera's operating status, you can check the battery level and charging progress via the indicator light and screen as described below:

FAQ

1. Can the camera be charged while shooting?

Yes. However, in this case, the charging power is limited, and charging will pause at higher temperatures to protect the battery.

2. Does the camera support reverse charging?

This feature is currently not supported. We will continuously optimize our products to provide you with a better user experience. Thank you for your understanding and support!

3. Is it normal for charging power to drop when the camera is nearly full or when the camera body is hot?

Yes, this is a normal battery protection mechanism. To protect battery health and extend battery lifespan, the camera will automatically and intelligently reduce charging power when the battery is nearly full or when the camera body is hot. Please use it with confidence.

4. How do I check the camera's battery level?

After turning on the camera, tap the top‑right corner of the screen to check the battery levels of both the "Camera" and the "Detachable Touchscreen Remote".

5. How long can the camera stay on standby when fully charged?

When fully charged, the camera can remain on standby for up to about 8 hours before automatically entering Deep Shutdown.

6. Will the camera drain the battery while in standby or powered off?

The camera remains in standby for up to about 8 hours before entering Deep Shutdown, allowing for a smooth quick‑start experience. We recommend updating the camera firmware to the latest version, as updates continuously improve power management during standby. Even after updating, some power consumption will still occur during standby; the main unit's maximum standby power consumption is about 5% to 10%. Once the camera enters Deep Shutdown, power consumption becomes extremely low.
