Instructions
You can enable Deep Track in three ways:
- Single press of the trigger button: Lightly press the trigger button on the gimbal, and the gimbal will automatically detect the tracking target in the frame (such as people, pets, or other main subjects) and start tracking.

FAQ
1. Which shooting modes support Deep Track?
This feature is available in Video, Slow Motion, TimeShift, and Widescreen modes.
2. Does the gimbal support tracking people, animals, or objects?
Yes. After connecting the gimbal to the Insta360 app, manually frame the subject on the shooting interface to automatically track the framed target. The gimbal supports quick tracking with a single press of the trigger button, which can intelligently identify and select people, animals (cats, dogs, horses, etc.), or objects in the frame for tracking.
Please note: When tracking people, you can choose to track "Single Person" or "Multiple Persons". However, the gimbal cannot track multiple "animals" or multiple "objects" simultaneously, nor can it track "people and objects", "people and animals", or "objects and animals" at the same time.
3. Can the gimbal track multiple persons simultaneously?
- Flow / Flow Pro: Only supports tracking one target.
- Flow 2 / Flow 2 Pro: Some models can track multiple persons simultaneously with the new multi tracking feature; please refer to the Compatibility List for details.
4. Can the gimbal track objects like footballs or ice hockey pucks?
The gimbal can track objects, but for small, fast-moving objects such as footballs or ice hockey pucks, blurring may occur in the camera lens, affecting tracking stability. Refer to the following conditions to improve tracking performance:
- The tracked object should occupy more than 1/10 of the frame.
- The recommended tracking distance is within 5 meters.
5. Can tracking resume after the target is temporarily blocked?
- For people: Enable the "Always-On Tracking" feature in the Insta360 app. Once enabled, even if the person is fully blocked, the gimbal will wait and resume tracking when they reappear.
- For pets/objects: Always-On Tracking is not currently supported. Tracking will stop if the target is blocked for more than 5 seconds.
Please note: If "Always-On Tracking" is not enabled, the gimbal will continue tracking for 3 seconds after losing the target.

6. What is the maximum tracking distance of the gimbal?
- Flow and Flow Pro: The tracked object is recommended to occupy more than 1/10 of the frame, with a tracking distance within 5 meters.
- Flow 2 and Flow 2 Pro: The tracked object is recommended to occupy more than 1/10 of the frame, with a tracking distance within 5 meters. Some iPhone models also support Active Zoom Tracking, enabling precise tracking of objects at longer distances.
Please note: If the object occupies a small proportion of the frame, click Auto Zoom, and the gimbal will automatically zoom in to maintain stable tracking.
7. What zoom level is supported for Slow Motion tracking?
Unlimited, but the final effect depends on the zoom capability of your phone's camera.
8. What zoom level is supported for Zoom Tracking?
Unlimited, but the final effect depends on the zoom capability of your phone's camera.
9. Can users freely adjust the framing while tracking a person?
Yes. During tracking, you can manually fine-tune the framing by toggling the joystick on the gimbal at any time to achieve more creative camera movements.
10. What do the green and yellow frames in the tracking screen represent?
- Green frame: Indicates the gimbal has successfully identified and started tracking the target.
- Yellow frame: Indicates the target is temporarily lost, and the gimbal is attempting to resume tracking.
