Solution

To ensure normal Internet access while connected to the camera, the phone will automatically enable mobile data after connecting. Please rest assured that this is normal. Details on mobile data consumption are as follows:

  • Exporting and downloading files: This will not consume your phone's mobile data, as files are transferred directly between the camera and the Insta360 app.
  • Editing: If you need to download resources such as music templates, this will consume your phone's mobile data. You can first download media from the camera, then disconnect your phone from the camera, and connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network for subsequent editing operations.
  • Live streaming: Live streaming requires the camera to be connected to the Insta360 app; therefore, it will use your phone's mobile data.

Scenario 2: Unable to use mobile data or access the Internet after the phone connects to the camera's Wi-Fi
Description

The phone cannot use mobile data or access the Internet after connecting to the camera's Wi-Fi.

Solution

For Android devices

Please enable the Proxy Mode in the Insta360 app. This ensures your phone can use mobile data to access the Internet even when it is connected to the camera's Wi-Fi.

Please refer to: Insta360 App: Compatibility Mode, Performance Mode, and Proxy Mode

For iOS devices

This issue may be related to your phone's Wi-Fi configuration. Please reconfigure the DNS by following these steps: Go to your phone's Settings, tap "WLAN" > tap the "i" icon next to the connected Wi-Fi network > "Configure DNS" > select "Manual" and delete any values under DNS SERVERS > tap "Save".
