Insta360 App: Compatibility Mode, Performance Mode, and Proxy Mode
Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, Ace, Ace Pro, Ace Pro 2, GO 3, GO 3S, GO Ultra, ONE R, and ONE RS
To better adapt to different devices and usage scenarios, the Insta360 app provides multiple operating modes that you can choose from based on your needs. Below is an introduction to the features and activation methods for each mode.
Performance Mode (For Android and iOS)
- Description: Enabling Performance Mode unlocks all features that are normally restricted due to performance limitations. However, this may increase the risk of the Insta360 app experiencing lag or crashes.
- How to enable/disable: Open the Insta360 app, tap "Me", scroll down to the bottom, find "App Settings" > toggle "Performance Mode" on/off.

Proxy Mode (For Android only)
- Description: After enabling Proxy Mode, you can use mobile data for Internet access while your device is connected to the camera's Wi-Fi.
- How to enable/disable: Open the Insta360 app, tap "Me" > swipe down to find "App Settings" > toggle "Enable Proxy Mode when connecting camera" on/off.

Please note:
- Xiaomi phones do not support enabling the "Proxy Mode", but you can still access the Internet without enabling the "Proxy Mode".
- Xiaomi phones may pop up a reminder, asking whether to enable mobile data:
- If you want to use the Internet while your phone is connected to the camera, you can tap "Enable", and subsequent operations will consume your mobile data.
- If you do not need to use the Internet temporarily, simply tap "Do Not Enable".
- On some Android phones, including Huawei, Xiaomi, Samsung, etc., if you enter the password in the phone’s system Settings > Wi-Fi connection page, even with the "Proxy Mode" enabled, there may still be an issue where the phone cannot access the Internet. Please connect to Wi-Fi through the Insta360 app (after a successful connection, it will prompt that you are connected to the network through the Insta360 app).

Compatibility Mode (For Android only)
- Description: Enabling Compatibility Mode can resolve image playback or export issues within the Insta360 app, such as green screens or evenly spaced green blocks. However, this mode may impact the app's performance, potentially causing lag or crashes. It is recommended to disable Compatibility Mode when not needed to avoid affecting the normal performance of other features.
- How to enable/disable: Open the Insta360 app, tap "Me" > tap the "⚙" icon in the top right corner > "About Insta360" > toggle "Compatibility Mode" on/off.

Please note:
- Enabling Compatibility Mode will clear cached data, and all previously cached data will be reloaded.
- If image abnormalities persist after enabling Compatibility Mode, it is recommended to disable the mode and contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
