Ace Series: Incorrect Timestamp on Media / Timestamp Not Matching Actual Shooting Time

Ace Series: Incorrect Timestamp on Media / Timestamp Not Matching Actual Shooting Time

Applicable Models: Ace, Ace Pro, and Ace Pro 2

Scenario 1: Incorrect timestamp on media shot by the camera alone

1. Update firmware and synchronize time

Make sure your camera firmware is updated to the latest version. Connect the camera to the Insta360 app to automatically synchronize the time.

Please refer to: Ace Series: How to Connect Camera to the Insta360 App and Ace Series: Check and Update Firmware Version

2. Try to perform a factory reset

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Shortcut" menu > select "Settings" (Gear icon ⚙) > tap "Factory Reset" > tap "Confirm". Then, connect the camera to the Insta360 app again to automatically synchronize the time.

Scenario 2: Incorrect timestamp on media shot while the camera is connected to the Insta360 app

  1. Update camera firmware and the Insta360 app: Make sure both your camera firmware and the Insta360 app are updated to the latest version.
  2. Check network connection: Check that your phone is connected to an available network, allowing the system to automatically synchronize the correct time.
  3. Check time settings: Go to the "Date & Time" (or similar) settings on your phone and ensure the "Set Automatically" option is enabled.
  4. If the issue persists, try switching the country/region setting: In the Insta360 app, go to "Me" > tap your avatar > "Personal Settings" > "Country/Region".

After adjusting, record a new video or take some photos to see if the timestamp returns to normal.

If you are still unable to resolve the issue after trying the solutions above, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
