Activation ensures your device's warranty period and other benefits are correctly registered, allowing you to enjoy comprehensive after-sales services and exclusive benefits. This article outlines the basic activation process and provides some FAQ answers to help you activate and start using your camera smoothly.
How to activate the camera for the first time?
- For first-time use, download the Insta360 app via any of the following methods:
- Method 1: After powering on the camera for the first time, scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
- Method 2: Scan the QR code on the product packaging.
- Method 3: Go to Insta360 Downloads > Download the Insta360 app.
- Power on the camera and enable both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
- Open the Insta360 app, tap the "Camera" icon at the bottom. In the pop-up window, find the option matching the last 6 digits of your camera's serial number, tap to connect. For the initial connection, you need to tap on the camera screen to confirm the connection.

- After successful connection, if a new firmware version is available, the Insta360 app will display a notification. Please follow the in-app prompts to complete the firmware update. Once the update is finished, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the camera activation.
