Insta360 App: Firmware Update Issues via App Connection

Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, X5, Ace, Ace Pro, Ace Pro 2, GO 3, GO 3S, GO Ultra, ONE R, and ONE RS

Scenario 1: A prompt appears during firmware update: "Firmware download failed. Please check your network (-13000)"

  1. Check mobile network and related settings

Ensure that your mobile data connection is enabled. For Android devices, it is recommended to enable the Proxy Mode for the Insta360 app at the same time. If you have a VPN enabled, please disable it before attempting the update again.

Please refer to: Insta360 App: Compatibility Mode, Performance Mode, and Proxy Mode

  1. Check and update the Insta360 app version

We recommend visiting the Insta360 Website to verify if your Insta360 app is the latest version. If not, please update the app first before proceeding with the firmware update.

Scenario 2: The Insta360 app indicates that the current firmware is already up-to-date, but the camera is not actually updated to the latest official firmware version

Please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.

Scenario 3: The firmware update progress bar gets stuck and becomes completely unresponsive during the update process

  1. Restore your camera to factory settings

Please refer to: X Series: Factory Reset, Ace Series: Factory Reset, and GO Series: Factory Reset

  1. Restart your phone
  2. Clear the Insta360 app cache

Open the Insta360 app > tap "Me" > tap "Settings" (Gear icon⚙) in the upper right corner > select "Clear cache".

  1. Attempt the firmware update again after completing the above steps

Scenario 4: The progress bar moves during firmware update, but the update speed is extremely slow

Please wait patiently for the update to complete. We also recommend recording a video of the update process and noting the total time used.

Please note: A normal update usually takes no more than 5 minutes for new camera models, while older models may require a relatively longer time.

If none of the above solutions resolves your issue, or if the update is still in progress after 10 minutes, please contact Insta360 Customer Support for assistance.
