Insta360 App: New Aspect Ratio and Style Border Feature for X5

The new 2.35:1 photo aspect ratio for X5 cameras gives your shots a more cinematic feel, adding a blockbuster atmosphere even to everyday moments. Additionally, the new Style Border feature allows you to add a personalized watermark to your content, easily enhancing photo recognition and giving each street snap a unique sense of identity and memorability.

Before using the new feature, please update the camera firmware to v1.7.43 or later and update Insta360 app to v2.14.0 or later.

How to switch to the 2.35:1 aspect ratio in the Insta360 app

After connecting your X5 camera to the Insta360 app, you can adjust the photo aspect ratio to 2.35:1 in the Insta360 app's real-time preview page for Photo Mode under the Single-Lens Mode. Please follow these steps:

1. Open the Insta360 app and connect your phone to the camera.

1. Tap the "Camera" icon at the bottom of Insta360 app to enter the shooting page. Set the shooting mode to "Single-Lens" and "Photo".
2. Tap the "Aspect Ratio" icon at the top of the shooting page.
3. Select "2.35:1" to switch to this aspect ratio.

How to obtain photos with a style border in the Insta360 app

When shooting in the Single-Lens Mode, if you have enabled "Style Border" on the camera, the Single-Lens photos you preview within and export from the Insta360 app will automatically retain that style border effect.

Please note:

• If the Style Border feature is not enabled during shooting, the preview and export of the media will follow the "Photo Watermark" setting within the Insta360 app. If the "Photo Watermark" is also turned off, the exported photos will not have watermark.
• If you enable both "Style Border" and "Photo Watermark", the style border effect will take priority.
