Please first check if your Insta360 app is updated to the latest version. If not, update it to the latest version. Then, choose the corresponding solution to resolve your issue based on the specific situation:
During the firmware download, ensure your phone is connected to the Internet. Please enter the "Home" page in the Insta360 app. If videos on the page load normally, your current network is working correctly; if they fail to load, there may be a network issue.

Please note: If you are using an Android device, please enable the Proxy Mode in the Insta360 app before updating the firmware. Path: Insta360 app > Settings > enable the Proxy Mode when connecting to the camera.

If the camera does not start the update normally or fails to update after transferring the firmware file via PC, try the following steps:
If the update still fails despite meeting all the above conditions, please repeat the update process a few times. If it still fails, back up the data on your memory card, format the card, and then try the firmware update again.

After activation and firmware update of X4 Air, the camera screen goes black, with the indicator light glowing magenta or purple.

We recommend turning off and then turning on your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, restarting the Insta360 app, and attempting the update again.
When you perform a firmware update for X3 via the Insta360 app or using a memory card, the entire process proceeds without errors and indicates completion, but the camera's firmware is not updated and its version remains unchanged.
