Applicable Models: X5
Before installation, remove the USB cover on your camera by following these steps:
Please note: When removing the USB cover, pull it out directly. Do not rotate it while pulling, as this may damage the pivot.
When installing, tighten the 1/4 screw stud at the bottom of the Grip, then connect the USB port on the Grip to the camera's USB port.
Please note: The camera mode after a successful USB connection is as follows:
Remove the Grip's USB connector from the side of the camera, then loosen the 1/4 ring on the Grip to remove it.
Please refer to: X Series: Check and Update Firmware Version
The Photography Grip currently supports X5 (please update the camera firmware to v1.7.43 or later). When used with X4 Air, the Grip can only be used to start or stop recording and does not currently support other features (such as Style Border, 2.35:1 aspect ratio, etc.).
The white and black Photography Grips differ only in color. Their functionality is identical, and you can choose freely.
The metal wrench features a magnetic design to prevent accidental loss. If you have difficulty removing it, try using tweezers or a pen for assistance.
If the USB cover on the Grip is hard to open, locate the side seam where the cover meets the body. Apply outward pressure along this seam with your finger until the cover loosens, then pinch and remove it. If it still won't open, try repeating the process along the seam on the other side.
You can store the camera's USB cover at the bottom of the Photography Grip using the following method: remove the original cover from the bottom of the Grip; align and insert the camera USB cover into the slot.
Please go to the Check Product Serial Number page on the Insta360 Website and enter the Grip's serial number (SN code) to verify.
Please note: To make it easier to locate the SN code, we have made several adjustments to its position. Therefore, you may notice that the SN code location varies by grip. Grips verified through the serial number query are official genuine products and safe to use.
You can find the serial number on the Photography Grip, and it may be located at one of these three locations:
After connecting the Photography Grip to the camera, you can start or stop recording while the camera is powered on. Currently, powering the camera on or off via the grip buttons is not supported. We will continue to optimize the product to provide you with a better user experience. Thank you for your understanding and support!
