Live Streaming
Q1 Does X5 support live streaming?
Yes, it does.
The platforms supported by the Insta360 app for live streaming with X5 are: Douyin, Kuaishou, YouTube, and Facebook. Please refer to the live streaming platforms displayed in the app for the most accurate information.
Q3 Can you live stream using a mobile phone/computer?
Mobile livestreaming:
- Live streaming via mobile phone is supported.
- Connect the camera to the Insta360 app to start live streaming.
- Note: When the camera is connected to the phone, it occupies the Wi-Fi channel, so the phone must use mobile data for an internet connection. For live streaming over Wi-Fi, you can connect to an Android phone via wired connection.
Computer livestreaming:
Q4 How do I find the livestreaming options/entrance? How can I livestream via the Insta360 app?
First, connect your camera to the Insta360 app on your phone. Tap the "Camera" icon to enter the shooting page and ensure the camera is in 360 Lens mode, then follow the steps shown below.
Note: 360 cameras do not support live streaming in Single-Lens mode.
Q5 What is the difference between 360 Live Streaming Mode and 360 Reframe Live Streaming Mode? Can viewers choose the streaming angle?
360 Live Streaming Mode: If the livestreaming platform supports 360, during "Live" mode, viewers can independently adjust and reframe the image on the streaming platform, meaning they can swipe around the 360° view to choose their perspective.
360 Reframe Live Streaming Mode: In "Reframe Live" mode, only the broadcaster can adjust and reframe the image, while viewers cannot modify the perspective themselves.
Note: 360 Reframe Live Streaming also uses 360 Lens mode, not Single-Lens mode.
Q6 What aspect ratio/lens mode does X5's Webcam mode support during live streaming?
It supports 360° Webcam 2:1 lens mode, providing a 2:1 equirectangular projection image on the computer that covers the entire surrounding environment. The image is already stitched and stabilized in-camera for optimized output.
