Gesture Control
Q1 How does Gesture Control work?
Gesture Control lets you take a photo or start recording with a simple hand gesture. Simply swipe down the screen to find "✋" to enable the gesture control feature. This function supports recognizing the peace sign ("✌️") and palm gesture ("✋").
- "✌️" peace sign: start taking a photo.
- "✋" palm gesture: start recording.
Q2 What should I keep in mind when using Gesture Control?
- Maintain distance: Make sure you are 1.3-5.2ft (0.4-1.6m) from the camera. (Stretching your hand closer does not make the trigger more sensitive.)
- Unobstructed head: Ensure that your whole head is in the frame, along with your gesture. Look into the camera to improve detection accuracy.
- Camera direction: Make sure you face one of the lenses when using Gesture Control.
- Multiple recognitions: When multiple people give gesture commands at once, the camera will prioritize recognizing the person holding the selfie stick, followed by the person with the largest head.
- Recognition duration: Hold your hand next to your ear for 1-2 seconds for best results.
Q3 Can I use Gesture Control with X5 underwater?
Yes, but due to the complex lighting conditions and dynamic environment underwater, Gesture Control may not be 100% accurate.
Q4 Can I use Gesture Control while wearing a helmet and gloves?
Yes, though accuracy may be lower compared to full-face visibility.
