X4 Air: Format SD Card / Deep Format

1. How do I format the SD card?

Regularly back up your files to your phone or computer and format the SD card to prevent errors.

• To format via X4 Air:
  • Insert the SD card.
  • Power on the camera.
  • Swipe down on the touchscreen > Settings > SD Card > Format.
• To format via the Insta360 app:
  • Insert the SD card and connect X4 Air to the app.
  • Open App Settings > Camera Settings > Camera Storage > Format.

  If you format using a computer, select exFAT as the file system with the default allocation size.

2. What is a Low-Level Format?

A Low-Level Format completely erases all data on the SD card and may help improve performance. To avoid recording errors, always use high-quality cards with the correct speed class and replace them if you notice slow or interrupted recording.

3. How do I perform a Low-Level Format?

a. Back up all files on the SD card.

b. On the camera, swipe down > Settings > SD Card > Format > Low-Level Format.
