X Series: How to Repair Corrupted Files

Applicable Models: ONE X, X2, X3, X4, X4 Air, and X5

If you are unable to open media in the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio, or the message "File Corrupted" appears, you can repair the files by yourself with our repair tool "Insta360 File Repair" or contact Customer Support for assistance, as detailed below.

Scenario 1: Corrupted video files

If your video file meets both of the following two conditions, you can use Insta360 File Repair to easily repair the corrupted file by yourself.

Condition 1: File type

INSV or MP4 videos shot with Insta360 cameras.

Condition 2: Corruption symptoms

• The file is shown as two spherical panoramas when imported into the Insta360 Studio.
• The corrupted file cannot be previewed, and an error message appears when importing it into Insta360 Studio.
• A message indicating "stitching data lost" appears.

Please visit the link Insta360 Downloads, scroll down to the bottom of the page, find Insta360 File Repair, select and download the corresponding version based on your computer system, and repair the corrupted file with the tool.

Please note:

• For instructions on how to use Insta360 File Repair, please visit the link Insta360 File Repair Help Documentation.
• Do not move the file or disconnect the power supply during the repair process.
• Successful repair depends on the extent of file corruption; we cannot guarantee 100% success in recovering your file.
• Even if the video is recovered, information such as gyroscope data, or audio may not be restored.

Scenario 2: Photo files are corrupted / The corrupted video file does not meet the above conditions or cannot be repaired with Insta360 File Repair
