The FOMO Power Handle is a multifunctional camera accessory that provides a power supply, physical controls, and portable support. This article describes how to use it and provides some FAQ answers, helping you get started quickly.

How to use the FOMO Power Handle

Mount your camera

1. Align the camera's screen side with the front of the FOMO Power Handle.
2. Align the screw hole on the bottom of the camera with the 1/4" screw on the top of the Handle.
3. Turn the screw knob clockwise to fasten the camera to the Handle until the bottom of the camera fits completely with the top of the handle.

Attach or remove the Mini Remote

The Mini Remote can be mounted on the handle for charging or removed for remote control (such as powering the camera on/off, starting/stopping recording, adding a highlight tag, taking a photo, etc.).

• To mount: Insert the Mini Remote vertically into the slot in the direction shown in the diagram until it clicks into place. Make sure the remote is secure and does not wobble.

• To remove: Turn the FOMO Power Handle upside down as shown in the diagram. Press down on the top of the remote with both thumbs, then slowly push it upward to release it.

Please note: When pushing out the remote, apply even, gentle pressure to prevent it from popping out or falling.

Unfold and fold the Quadpod

• To unfold: Fully pull out the Quadpod legs at the bottom of the FOMO Power Handle until you hear a "click" indicating they are locked. Unfold all four legs and place the Handle on a flat, level surface for use.
• To fold: First fold all four legs together, then push them back into the Handle.

Fold and store the camera

• To fold: Press the side button on the FOMO Power Handle (position ①) while rotating the camera in the direction of the arrow (position ②) until it flips over, completing the folding.

• To keep it upright: To keep the camera upright, flip it to the vertical position and push it down until you hear a "click", which indicates the locking button has engaged.

Please note:

• You can attach the included safety cord to the FOMO Power Handle. Once the camera is folded, attach the lens cap to the camera lens, then store the camera together with the Handle.
• Keep the inside of the lens cap clean to avoid dust or debris that could scratch the lens. The lens cap can be detached from the safety cord and used separately.

Charging and battery level indication

• Charging the camera: Connect the camera to the FOMO Power Handle using the included USB Type-C cable. Double-press the power button on the Handle to stop charging; press it again to resume charging.

Please note: As shown in the diagram, one end of the USB Type-C cable can be stored inside the folding shaft.

• Battery level: Press the power button on the Handle, and the indicator lights will show the remaining battery level of the Handle.

Notes on using external accessories

• The FOMO Power Handle can be connected with the external safety cord and the Insta360 Magnetic Selfie Stick Holster.
• There is a 1/4" mounting point on the bottom of the Handle. In wind-free, stable conditions:
  • You can directly attach a tripod or the Insta360 2-in-1 Invisible Selfie Stick to the Handle and place it on the ground for use.
  • Alternatively, first attach the Insta360 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick, 85cm Invisible Selfie Stick, or Action Invisible Selfie Stick to the Handle, then mount it onto the Insta360 All-Purpose Tripod and place it on the ground for use.
• Handheld shooting with a selfie stick attached is not recommended.

FAQ

1. Does the FOMO Power Handle have a serial number?

The Handle does not have a serial number; only the date of manufacture is marked.

2. Can the FOMO Power Handle power on the X5 camera?

Yes. The FOMO Power Handle comes with a Mini Remote. After pairing the Mini Remote with the camera, you can use the Handle to power the camera on/off, start/stop recording, take photos, and more.

3. Can I set the camera to preferentially draw power from the FOMO Power Handle?

No additional setting is required. When the camera is connected to the Handle with a USB Type-C cable, the system will automatically use the Handle's battery to power the camera first.

4. What is the power supply and charging logic when shooting with the FOMO Power Handle? Will the camera battery drain while shooting?

• When the Handle is connected, the system uses the Handle's battery to power the camera first. Any surplus power from the Handle will charge the camera battery.
• If the camera battery is relatively full (approximately 80% or higher) and its temperature is too high, battery over-temperature protection will be triggered. The camera will temporarily switch to using its battery until the charge drops to about 80% and then automatically switch back to drawing power from the Handle.

5. Can the FOMO Power Handle be taken on an airplane? Should it be checked or carried on? Does it have 3C certification?

The FOMO Power Handle has passed 3C certification and can be taken on an airplane. Because it serves as a power bank, it is recommended to carry it in your carry-on luggage to avoid potential issues, since restrictions on checked luggage may vary by airline. Airline requirements may vary slightly, so please check with your airline before departure to confirm the latest regulations.
