1. How do I update Insta360 Wave?
Method 1: In-device update for Insta360 Wave.
Ensure that Insta360 Wave is connected to Wi-Fi, swipe up from the bottom of the touchscreen to enter "Settings" > "General" > "Firmware Update." If a new firmware version is available, you can directly tap "Update Now."
Method 2: Direct update via computer for Insta360 Wave
- Download and save the latest firmware from the official website to your computer. Power on your Insta360 Wave and connect it to the computer using a data cable.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the touchscreen, go to Settings > USB Mode, and select File Transfer Mode.
- The computer will recognize an external drive named Wave Files. Open this drive and place the downloaded firmware file in the root directory.
- Once complete, exit the USB drive mode on the Insta360 Wave, and the device will automatically detect and start the firmware update.
Method 3: Update via Insta360 Wave Controller.
- Connect Insta360 Wave to the computer using a USB-C cable, open the Insta360 Wave Controller client, and ensure Insta360 Wave is successfully connected.
- In the Insta360 Wave Controller, click "Settings" > "Device Settings" > "About", to obtain version information and complete the firmware update with one click.
Note: Please ensure a stable connection between the Wave and the computer during the firmware upgrade, as interrupting the connection may cause the update to fail.
2. How do I update Insta360 Wave Controller?
Method 1: Right-click the Insta360 Wave Controller icon in the computer’s bottom menu bar and click "Check for Updates" to see if there is any new firmware. If available, you can download the latest version directly from that page for an update.
Method 2: Download the latest Insta360 Wave Controller directly from the official website and install it. After installation, uninstall the old Insta360 Wave Controller.
