Updating your Firmware

Note:

*Please ensure the camera's battery has more than 10% remaining.
*Please do not take out the battery or the SD card while updating.
*Please set the camera touchscreen to "Never Sleep" & keep the screen on during the firmware upgrade.

Update via Insta360 App:

  1. Connect ONE X2 to your phone and open the Insta360 app.
  2. When you're due an update, the app will give you an update notice. When you see this, hit 'Download'.
  3. After downloading, follow the on-screen instructions to connect to ONE X2 again and upload the firmware.
  4. After uploading, ONE X2 will start updating automatically. The indicator will be solid blue and the screen will turn off during the update. ONE X2 will restart automatically after the update is complete.
  5. You can check the current firmware version via the on-screen animation when turning on your ONE X2.

Update via SD card:

  1. Download the ONE X2 camera firmware via the Insta360 website.
  2. Take out the X2 storage card, connect to the computer through a card reader, and wait for recognition.
  3. Copy the “Insta360ONEX2FW.bin” file to your ONE X2 directly rather than to other folders on the SD card

Note: Please make sure you have deleted the old firmware bin file and kept the file name of the newly downloaded firmware unchanged; otherwise the system might not be able to identify the latest firmware automatically, which will cause issues when updating.
  4. Disconnect SD card from your computer, put the SD card back in the camera, and press the power button to turn on the camera. ONE X2 will check the firmware and update automatically. The indicator will be a solid blue during the update.
  5. ONE X2 will restart automatically once the update is completed.
  6. You can check the current firmware version via the on-screen animation when turning on your ONE X2.
