The 4K Boost Lens will not be compatible with ONE R Core at launch. It will be compatible later with a firmware update. After the firmware update is launched you can use your ONE R Core with the new 4K Boost Lens. You can enjoy the benefits of the new lens, including a larger 1/2" image sensor, 48MP photos and Active HDR. However, these features which require the ONE RS Core won't be available:
The new 1445mAh ONE RS battery has 21% more capacity than the ONE R. This increase in capacity is needed to power the new ONE RS core. Our tests have not shown a significant increase in the battery life of the ONE RS camera. For longer battery life, we recommend the Boosted Battery Base.
Yes, you can use your ONE R lenses with the ONE RS Core. You can enjoy all the benefits of the new Core, including a new processor, improved in-camera FlowState image stabilization, 50% faster WiFi transfers, improved audio, Instant Zoom and the Quick menu. When used with a wide-angle lens, you can also shoot 4K 60fps under FlowState mode. For optimal performance, we recommend to use the ONE RS Core together with ONE RS battery and ONE RS Mounting Bracket.
Yes, you can use your ONE R Core and lenses with the ONE RS Battery Base. However, the ONE RS Battery Base is not compatible with the ONE R Mounting Bracket due to its larger size and capacity. Please purchase the ONE RS Mounting Bracket to use with the battery, which also has a new quick release button, a heat dissipating design and a built-in windproof mic cover.
