Q1 Can Insta360 Nano S be used independently?
Insta 360 Nano S can be used alone. For more infomation, please refer to Nano S Independent Mode Tutorial.
Q2 How to use the 360° Video Chat function?
- All-new 360° Video Chat lets you share an immersive, real-time view of your world.
- 1. Connect your Nano S to your iPhone and open the Nano S App;
- 2. Enter the album page, click the top left button to enter the 360° Video Chat;
- 3. Click the Filter button on the right, you can choose to use Beauty or Filter function to edit;
- 4. Click on the left two buttons, you can switch between 360° Video Chat mode and MultiView Video Chat mode;
- 5. Click the Call button to start a Video Chat, share the link to your friends to open to join the call.
- Compatibility requirements for 360° Video Chat receiver Phone:
- IOS:
- 1.IOS 11: open the call link and click the more buttons in the top right corner, in the pop-up box, select "open in Safari", you can join the 360° Video Chat. Or, if your phone has a Nano S App already installed, open the call link and click "Open in App" to join the 360° Video Chat.
- 2.IOS 9/IOS 10: Open the call link and then you need to download the Nano S App, after the download is complete, return to the prompt page and click "Open in App" to join the 360° Video Chat.
- 3.System bottom than IOS 9: temporarily unable to use this feature.
Q3 Why is blue LED indicator keeps blinking?
Blue LED indicator keeps blinking implies errors with Micro SD card. Please check if Micro SD card is correctly put into Nano S, or if the SD card storage is full, or if the SD card format is wrong. If there is no Micro SD card, it is normal that blue light keeps blinking. For more information, please check LED Indicator Status.
Q4 How to turn on Insta360 Nano S?
- Insta360 Nano S has two turn-on mode.
- Mode 1:Connect the camera to the iPhone, the light is on when the camera is on. The camera will automatically turn off if unplugged;
- Mode 2: Press the Power button, the light is on when the camera is on (Memory card must be inserted), long press the button for 3 seconds, the camera will make a when it is turned off.
Q5 What can I do if the camera has no response or crash?
- 1. Check whether Nano S is out of battery. The camera is not able to turn on with low-battery.
- 2. If Nano S still has no response, please long press the power button for 20 seconds or press the reset hole underneath the camera via the pin to reset.
- 3. If the blue or green light is still on after firmware update, please firstly try to long press the button for 20s to reset. If no response, try to format the microSD card. And if still no response, plug the microSD card and try to update the camera firmware via microSD card.
- 4. Connect Nano S to iPhone, open Settings-->General-->About-->Scroll to the bottom---> Find the Insta360 Nano S here (but at this status it is disconnected on software), please first try to shut down the App, unplug & plug the camera again onto the phone. If there is still no response, try to delete and reinstall App, unplug & plug the camera again onto the phone.
- 5. Connect Nano S to iPhone, open Settings-->General-->About-->Scroll to the bottom---> If Insta360 Nano S cannot be found here, please try to check the lighting connector first. If still no response, try to restart your iPhone and unplug & plug the camera again onto the phone.

Q6 How long can Nano S work?
Nano S can last as long as 60mins.
Q7 How to check the serial number of camera?
- 1. Connect Nano S to iPhone.
<li>2. Tap Setting of phone -> Tap General -> About -> Insta360 Nano S Serial Number.</li>
Q8 How to check the firmware version of the camera?
- 1. Connect Nano S to phone -> tap Setting of iPhone -> tap General -> tap About -> Insta360 Nano S.
<li>2. Or connect Nano S to iphone -> open Nano S App -> tap Setting -> tap About Insta360 -> Firmware.</li>
Q9 What should I do if I fail to update camera firmware?
- Update camera firmware via Micro SD card:
- 1. Please check if the format of the SD card is UHS-I, exFAT(FAT64) or not.
- 2. Please check the firmware package downloaded is for Nano S or not.
- 3. Please check if the firmware package is located in the root library.
4. If no response, please format the SD card and try to update again.
- 5. If problems cannot be solved, please contact us via Insta360 Online Service or email(service@insta360.com).
- Update camera firmware via Nano S App:
- 1. Please check if the App is the latest version or not.
- 2. Please keep Nano S App open during firmware update and if you have the App running on the back end while using other Apps, the update might fail.
- 3. If problems cannot be solved, please contact us via Insta360 Online Service or email(service@insta360.com).
Q10 How can the camera be calibrated automatically?
- 1. Connect your Nano S to your iPhone and open the Nano S App;
- 2. Click the Setting button, tap Auto Calibration;
- 3. The camera placed need to calibrate in the shooting environment that needs calibrate, try to avoid to set moving objects as a reference object;
- 4. During the calibration process, you can rotate mobile phone, so that calibration is more accurate. For detailed operation, you can click to view automatic calibration tutorial.
Q11 How to charge Insta360 Nano S?
Connect the USB cable to the Nano S for charging. During standby charging, the green indicator light indicates that it is charging. When it is powered off, the red indicator light indicates that it is charging. When the indicator light is off, the charging is completed. An exhausted battery can be fully charged in about 2 hours.
Q12 Does camera has a build-in battery? Can I charge it whlie operating it?
Nano S camera has a build-in battery. It is not recommended charging Nano S while you are using the camera, as it will cause damage to the camera.
Q13 If Insta360 Nano S is out of battery, can it be charged with my phone?
No, iPhone does not support this setting.
