Mic Pro: Internal Recording with Transmitter

Mic Pro: Internal Recording with Transmitter

Applicable Models: Mic Pro

Internal recording means the transmitter records audio files directly in its built-in storage. Even if the wireless signal is interrupted, the receiver is not connected, or the device is turned off, it can independently back up high-quality audio. Mic Pro supports 32-bit float, stereo internal recording, TX auto gain, and other features.

How to start or stop internal recording

Method 1: Manual operation
  • Short-press the internal recording button on the transmitter to start or stop internal recording.
  • Swipe up from the bottom of the receiver touchscreen to enter the Transmitter Control page > tap the "REC" button to start or stop internal recording.
Method 2: Synchronization with Insta360 camera recording

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to enter the Shortcut menu, tap "Bluetooth" > "Headset/Microphone" > tap the paired Mic Pro > enable "Record with Internal Audio". Once enabled, the transmitter will follow these rules:

  • When the camera starts video recording, the transmitter automatically starts internal recording.
  • When the camera stops video recording, the transmitter automatically stops internal recording.
Method 3: Automatic triggering

Swipe down from the top of the receiver touchscreen to enter the Control Center > tap "TX Settings" > "Auto Internal Recording". After this setting is configured, the transmitter can automatically start internal recording when the battery level is low or the signal is weak.

Please note: When internal recording is active, the audio recording status indicator on the right side of the transmitter will be solid red.

How to export internal recording files

  1. Connect the transmitter to a computer using the included USB cable.
  2. In File Explorer on your computer, open the transmitter storage folder and copy the .wav files (Files with "orig" in their names are original files; those with "processed" in their names are processed files). File name examples:
  • Original file: audio_260228_102059_24bit_orig
  • Processed file: audio_260330_231255_24bit_processed

Please note: The transmitter does not support real-time USB audio transfer; it is only used for exporting recorded files. To format the storage, please use the receiver or the Insta360 app.

How to delete internal recording files from the transmitter

Method 1: Via a computer

Connect the transmitter to a computer as described in the export method above, locate the internal recording files on your computer, and delete them.

Method 2: Via the receiver

Swipe down from the top of the receiver touchscreen to enter the Control Center, tap "TX Settings" > "Storage" > tap the TX you want to format > select "Yes".

Please note: Formatting will erase all internal recording files on the transmitter. We recommend backing up important files before proceeding.
