This article provides detailed instructions on how to connect the microphone to a phone, tablet, or computer, helping you complete the connection quickly and start recording smoothly.
How to connect Mic Pro to a phone/tablet/computer
Method 1: Via an adapter / USB cable
Connect to a phone/tablet
- Attach the phone adapter to the receiver. Plug the receiver into your phone/tablet's port.
- Attach the paired transmitter to your clothing using the Clip Magnet or Button Magnet for wireless audio capture.

Connect to a computer
You can connect the receiver to a computer in either of the following ways:
- Connect the receiver to the computer using a USB-C adapter.

- Connect the receiver to the computer using the included USB-C cable.

Please note: The transmitter cannot be used for audio input when connected to a computer via a cable; it only supports file transfer.
Method 2: Direct connection via Bluetooth
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone/tablet/computer.
- Triple-press the transmitter's power button to enter the pairing mode. The function indicator will flash rapidly.
- In your phone/tablet/computer's Bluetooth device list, find "Insta360 Mic Pro TX xxxxx" and tap/click to connect.
- After successful connection, the function indicator becomes solidly lit.

How to connect Mic Air to a phone/tablet/computer
1. Plug the receiver into your device
Plug the USB-C connector of the Mic Air receiver directly into the USB-C port of your phone, tablet, or computer.

2. Power on the transmitter for automatic connection
Press and hold the transmitter button for two seconds to power it on. Once activated, the transmitter will connect to the receiver automatically. After successful connection, the status indicators on both the transmitter and the receiver (indicators at position ② in the images below) will become solid cyan. The transmitter is now ready for audio recording.

3. Pair a new transmitter
To connect a new transmitter, make sure it is powered off first, then press and hold the buttons on both the transmitter and the receiver simultaneously for six seconds until their status indicators flash cyan rapidly, indicating pairing is enabled. The status indicators will become solid cyan upon successful connection.
Please note: The Mic Air receiver only supports connection to phones/tablets/computers equipped with a USB-C port.

1. Does the microphone support adapters / adapter cables?
The microphone supports USB-C to Lightning adapters / adapter cables, provided that the following compatibility requirements are met:
- The adapter / adapter cable must support UAC (USB Audio Class) digital audio transmission.
- Only Apple MFi-certified Lightning adapters / adapter cables can be used.
2. Does the transmitter support controlling a phone for recording?
The transmitter can be used to start recording, stop recording, and take photos on the phone when both of the following conditions are met.
- Your phone is connected via a receiver.
- The app you are using supports "controlling shooting with volume buttons", such as the native camera app or compatible third-party shooting apps like the Insta360 app.
