The camera is equipped with a four-microphone array and offers multiple audio modes. You can freely select the mode based on different scenarios to ensure clear audio capture and enhance video quality. This article describes how to set audio modes and answers some frequently asked questions.

How to set the audio mode

Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Quick Menu" > tap "Audio Settings" > "Sound Effect Settings" > "Audio Mode", then select the audio mode that best suits your shooting scene.

Audio modes supported:

  • Original Audio: Preserves the original sound with high fidelity; suitable for music scenes.
  • Wind Reduction: Reduces wind noise to make voices clearer; suitable for travel and daily recording.
  • Voice Enhancement: Reduces background noise to highlight voices; suitable for vlogs.

2. Does the camera record audio in mono or stereo?

The camera supports both mono and stereo recording. How to change channel settings: Swipe down from the top of the camera screen to access the "Quick Menu" > tap "Audio Settings" > "Sound Effect Settings" > "Channel Settings".

3. What is the maximum sound pressure level (peak SPL) the camera can handle?

The maximum sound pressure level with no more than 1% distortion is 130dB SPL; it is 135dB SPL with no more than 10% distortion.

4. How many microphones does a Luna Series camera have? Does the camera have the in-camera noise reduction feature? What is the audio capture logic?

Luna Series cameras feature a four-microphone array (including the microphone on the Detachable Touchscreen Remote) as well as intelligent noise reduction algorithms that suppress wind noise and enhance voices. They support omnidirectional audio capture and give priority to an external microphone when one is connected.

Please note: When you detach the Detachable Touchscreen Remote, the camera will ask whether to switch to the microphone on the Detachable Touchscreen Remote (it does not switch by default). When you reattach the Detachable Touchscreen Remote, it will switch to the microphone on the gimbal.
