Link Series: Unable to Use or Enable Virtual Camera on Mac

Applicable Models: Link 2, Link 2C, Link 2 Pro, and Link 2C Pro

Description

When trying to enable the Virtual Camera feature on a Mac, a prompt appears stating "System Extension Blocked", and the Virtual Camera feature cannot be used.

Reason

The necessary permission for using the Virtual Camera feature is not allowed on the Mac.

Solution

1. Check the macOS version

Ensure your macOS version is 13.0 or later. The Virtual Camera feature is not available on versions prior to 13.0.

2. Restart your computer

Try restarting your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

3. Allow the permission required for the Virtual Camera feature

For macOS versions before 15.0

Go to "System Settings" and select "Allow" under "Privacy & Security".

For macOS 15.0 and later

Go to "System Settings" > type "Extensions" in the search bar > click "Extensions" > scroll down to find "Camera Extensions" > click the icon to the right of the option to allow the permission required for Link Controller.
