Link Series: No Sound in Recorded Videos / Microphone Not Working
Applicable Models: Link, Link 2, and Link 2C
Description
When recording video using Insta360 Link Controller or third-party software, the video displays correctly but there is no sound.
Reason
- The audio device is not set to the Link series camera used.
- The computer's audio output is muted.
- Microphone permissions are not granted on Mac systems.
Solution
Scenario 1: No sound when recording with third-party software, but sound works when using Insta360 Link Controller
- Check the audio settings within the third-party software. Ensure the audio device is set to the "Insta360 Link" camera.
- If the settings are correct but there is still no sound, the issue might be with the third-party software itself. Please contact the customer support for this specific platform.
Scenario 2: No sound when recording with Insta360 Link Controller
- Set correct audio device: In the client interface, click the "..." icon in the upper right corner > go to "Settings". Under "Audio Device", select your Link series camera.

- Check audio settings of your computer system
- Windows: Open your computer's Settings, go to "Sound" > "Input" > adjust "Volume". Ensure the input volume is not muted and increase the volume appropriately.
- Mac: Open your Mac's Settings, go to "Sound" > "Input" > increase the "Input Volume" appropriately.

- Grant microphone permissions (for Mac only)
Go to Settings, select "Privacy & Security" > "Microphone", and enable the permission for Insta360 Link Controller.

- Disable antivirus software (if enabled) and run Insta360 Link Controller as an administrator
Temporarily disable any antivirus software. Then, try running Insta360 Link Controller as an administrator. To do this, select the client, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator".
