This article provides detailed instructions on how to set up and use your camera on various live streaming platforms, including OBS, helping you prepare for live streaming quickly and enhance your video stream quality.

I. Install Insta360 Link Controller
  1. Download Insta360 Link Controller

Visit the Insta360 website, navigate to "Downloads" > find "Insta360 Link/Link2/Link 2C" > click "Software" > select Insta360 Link Controller for your operating system > click "Download".

  1. Install Insta360 Link Controller
  • Mac: Open the installer package, click "Continue" > read the license agreement, and click "Agree" > "Install".
  • Windows: Open the installer package, click "I accept the agreement" > "Next" > confirm the installation location > click "Install".

II. Adjust the settings of Insta360 Link Controller

Before starting a stream on any platform, please complete the following settings to ensure the optimal experience:

  1. Open Insta360 Link Controller and connect your camera.
  2. Vertical streaming: If you need to stream in the portrait (vertical) mode, enable "Portrait Resolution and High Frame Rate" in the lower left corner of the client interface.

  1. Click the camera icon in the lower left corner to close the preview.
  2. Enable "Toolbar Mode" (recommended): Click the icon in the top right corner to enable "Toolbar Mode". This mode allows you to control the camera conveniently during live streaming without repeatedly switching software windows.

III. Configure the camera
  1. Open and log in to the live studio (or similar) client for your streaming platform.
  2. Navigate to the camera configuration page, set the camera to "Insta360 Link/Link 2/Link 2C", and adjust the corresponding resolution.

Please note:

  • For vertical streaming, please set a portrait resolution, such as "2176×3840" or "1080×1920".
  • Link 2 and Link 2C support features such as Makeup, Filters, Smart Whiteboard, and Virtual Background. If you need to use these features, please set the camera to "Insta360 Virtual Camera" and adjust the camera settings. Furthermore, to use the Makeup feature, please connect to the Internet and set the resolution to 1080x1920.
