Link Series: Unable to Add Camera in Third-Party Software on Windows PC

Description

On a Windows computer, when attempting to use a Link series camera in third-party software, you may receive an error message such as "Failed to add the camera: the camera is in use" or "Failed to recognize the camera".

Solution

  1. Disable the "Preview" feature in Insta360 Link Controller (as shown below).

  1. Check if the "Virtual Camera" feature is enabled in Insta360 Link Controller.
  • If Virtual Camera is enabled: In the third-party platform, select "Insta360 Virtual Camera" as the camera device.
  • If Virtual Camera is not enabled: In the third-party platform, select "Insta360 Link2 or Link 2C" as the camera device.
