- If the camera remains inactive for 10 consecutive seconds, the lens will automatically rotate downwards and enter the sleep mode, effectively protecting your privacy.
- Additionally, Link 2 supports manually tilting the gimbal downwards to the 90° position to quickly activate the Privacy Mode.
Please note: The Privacy Mode will not be activated if the gimbal is tilted upwards.

You can easily activate or deactivate the Privacy Mode by sliding the privacy cover switch on the camera.
FAQ
1. Can the microphone be muted in the Privacy Mode?
It is only supported on Link 2. You can turn off the microphone in the Privacy Mode through Insta360 Link Controller: Navigate to "More" > "Other Settings" > select "Mute in Privacy Mode".
Please note: This setting only turns off the Link 2's built-in microphone and cannot turn off the microphone of third-party software.

2. Can the default Privacy Mode be disabled?
No, it cannot be disabled.
3. How do I exit the Privacy Mode and wake up the Link series camera?
When the camera is in the Privacy Mode, you can wake it up using any of the following methods:
- Software Wakeup: Re-open the application that requires the camera (e.g., a video meeting app) on your computer. The camera will automatically wake up when the software starts capturing the video stream.
- Manual Wakeup: Manually tilt the camera gimbal upwards to its normal operating angle to exit the Privacy Mode.
- Reconnecting: Disconnect and then reconnect the camera's USB cable. The camera will function normally after re-establishing the connection.
