Link Series: Check and Update Firmware Version
Applicable Models: Link, Link 2, and Link 2C
Updating the firmware promptly can unlock new features, fix known issues, and enhance your overall experience. The following instructions outline the operational steps for your reference to check your current firmware version and update to the latest one.
How to check the firmware version?
- Connect the camera to your computer and open Insta360 Link Controller.
- Once connected, click the "..." icon in the top control bar.
- From the dropdown menu, select "Settings" > click "About Us" to check the camera's firmware version and client version.】
How to update the firmware?
Method 1: Via Insta360 Link Controller
- Connect the camera and open Insta360 Link Controller. If a firmware update is available, a prompt will appear automatically.
- Click the "..." icon in the top control bar > find "Settings" > click "About Us".
- If a new firmware version is available, click "Update" to download the firmware file and install the new version.
- After the download is complete, click "Update" again, and the camera's indicator light flashes, indicating the update process has begun.
- The update process takes approximately 2-3 minutes. During this period, the client may temporarily fail to recognize or detect the camera.
- Please ensure a stable connection. The camera will restart automatically once the update is complete.
Method 2: Via the U-Disk Mode
- Connect the camera to your computer using the original USB cable.
- Briefly press the touch button 3 times (the indicator light will flash white), then immediately press and hold the touch button for 5 seconds (until the indicator light turns solid blue). Release the button (the light will return to solid white after 2 seconds).
- The camera enters the USB Update mode, and your computer will recognize a removable drive named "Insta360".
- Click here to download the latest Insta360 Link Firmware file. Copy the downloaded file to the "Insta360" drive.
- Briefly press the touch button 3 times again (the indicator light will flash white), then press and hold the touch button for 5 seconds to start the update (the indicator light will flash blue slowly).
- Upon completion of the update, the camera will restart automatically. A solid blue light indicates resumption of normal operation.
Please note: Do not disconnect the USB cable during the firmware update process.

- Briefly press the touch button 3 times (the camera's indicator light will flash blue), then press and hold the touch button for 5 seconds (until the indicator light turns solid blue).
- The camera enters the USB Update mode, and your computer will recognize a removable drive named "Insta360".
- Click here to download the latest Insta360 Link 2/Link 2C Firmware file. Copy the downloaded file to the USB flash drive named after the camera.
- Disconnect the USB cable and then reconnect it. The camera will now update automatically. Once the update is complete and the camera has restarted, the firmware update is finished.
Please note: Do not disconnect the USB cable or operate the camera during the firmware update process.
