There are three steps the GPS Preview Remote takes to wake up a camera:

1. Powering the camera on
2. Activating the camera's Bluetooth
3. Connecting to the GPS Preview Remote

Since each stage requires some time, the process takes around 20 seconds.

There are four steps the GPS Preview Remote takes to wake up a camera and start recording:

1. Powering the camera on
2. Controlling the camera
3. Activating the camera's Bluetooth
4. Connecting to GPS Preview Remote Since each stage requires some time, the process takes around 30 seconds.
   

Note: The camera starts shooting before reestablishing a connection with the remote.
