FAQ

1. What if the background is overexposed in backlit or cloudy conditions when the Portrait mode is enabled?

The Portrait mode prioritizes facial brightness optimization, which may result in higher background exposure. To balance background brightness, it's recommended to reduce the proportion of the sky in the frame or disable the Portrait mode.

2. How to reduce noise when using zoom with the Portrait mode enabled?

Use the zoom feature in well-lit environments to improve image clarity.

3. How to get better shooting results at night with the Portrait mode enabled?

Very dark environments (no lighting): Use the Video mode with the Portrait mode enabled, and consider using a third-party fill light. It is recommended to use a third-party fill light or switch to the PureVideo mode.

Low-light environments (with some lighting): Use the Video mode with the Portrait mode enabled, and try to position the face towards the light source for better results.

4. What should you do if the frame is more prone to shaking when using the Portrait mode at night or in low-light motion scenes?

The Portrait mode is suitable for stationary scene or low-intensity motion in low light (e.g., walking, sitting still). It is recommended to set the stabilization level to "Low". For high-intensity activities (e.g., running, jumping), it is recommended to temporarily disable the Portrait mode to achieve stable footage.

5. What are the differences in the effects of the Portrait mode between GO 3S and GO Ultra?

Overall speaking, the Portrait mode of GO 3S can effectively brighten the skin tone to meet the needs of portrait shooting; while the Portrait mode of GO Ultra optimizes skin texture more delicately, and supports more filters and shooting modes, which can better satisfy the needs for straight-out-of-camera results.
