Waterproofing
1. What is the waterproof depth of GO Ultra?
Standalone Camera: IPX8 waterproof up to 33ft (10m) without a case.
Action Pod: IPX4 splashproof only.
Standalone Camera + Action Pod: Waterproof up to 60 meters with the Dive Case.
2. How can I make sure GO Ultra remains waterproof?
- Ensure the lens guard is installed correctly to prevent water ingress. If water enters the lens, it will result in poor shooting results and may cause damage.
- Use the Dive Case when using GO Ultra during high-intensity water-based activities, such as diving and surfing. The product can get damaged, and waterproofing can be compromised by the impact of entering water at high speed. Please refer to the manual of the Dive Case for detailed installation instructions.
- To ensure the waterproof performance of the standalone camera, securely close the microSD card cover. When it is closed correctly, no part of the orange markings will be visible. If you still see orange markings, lift the microSD card cover and close it again.
- Ensure the Standalone Camera is dry before removing the microSD card to prevent water from entering the slot.
- After using the Standalone Camera in saltwater, rinse the camera with fresh water, then soak it in fresh water for 10 minutes. After this, wipe the camera with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to dry naturally in a cool, well-ventilated area. Ensure that the charging point on the back of the Standalone Camera is clean and dry before placing it into the Action Pod.
- Do not use a hair dryer to dry the speaker or microphone, as this may damage the internal waterproof membrane inside GO Ultra.
- When the Standalone Camera is wet, the wind guard's noise reduction capabilities and the microphone's audio quality will be affected. If the Standalone Camera gets wet but does not get fully submerged, leave it for 6–8 hours to dry before using it again. If the Standalone Camera does get fully submerged, leave it to dry for at least 24 hours before using it again.
