File Transfer
Edit and export files on a smartphone or computer in the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio.
Transfer files from the camera to a smartphone
- Connect the camera to the Insta360 app on either iOS or Android.
- Open the app's album page.
- Tap the check mark icon in the top right then select the file(s) you want to transfer.
- Tap the export icon to save the file(s) to your phone's album. Do not exit the app or lock your phone while exporting.
- Tap the download icon to download the file(s) to the app album.
If the camera can't connect to the Insta360 app, try the following:
- Update the firmware of both the camera and app to the latest version.
- Go to your phone's system page to check if the Wi-Fi is connected.
- If it is not connected, please enter the Wi-Fi password, restart the camera and phone, then try again.
- If you're still having trouble connecting, you can go to the Wi-Fi page of your phone, tap on the camera's Wi-Fi from the list of networks, click "forget this network" and try to connect again.
- Make sure GPS and Bluetooth permissions are on for the Insta360 App.
- On Android, ensure WLAN+ or Auto Switch Wi-Fi is off (if there is such a setting).
- On iPhone, enter Settings, find Insta360, ensure Local Network is on.
Transfer files from camera to computer (Mac/Windows)
- Use the official USB-C cable to connect the camera to a computer.
- Turn the camera on and select USB Drive Mode. Wait for the computer to recognize the camera drive.
- Open DCIM, then the Camera01 folder, and copy photos/videos from this folder to the computer.
If the camera can't connect to the computer, try the following:
- Ensure the camera firmware is up to date.
- Use the official data cable for transfer, as non-official cables may have compatibility issues.
- Make sure the camera is powered on.
